Microsoft .NET  and NCS’ eXpress Suite

The .NET architecture is the strength of NCS eXpress Suite. Microsoft® .NET is a set of Microsoft software technologies that effectively erase the boundaries between applications used in business and the Internet. It does this by enabling a high level of software integration through the use of XML Web services which are small discrete building-block applications that connect to each other as well as to other larger applications over the Internet.

Web services allow different applications from different sources to communicate with each other without time-consuming and expensive custom coding, and because all communication is in XML, Web services are not tied to any one operating system or programming language. For example, Java can talk with Perl, Windows applications can talk with UNIX applications.

We chose .NET because it takes full advantage of the power of web services, belongs to a larger family of languages - SQL, CE, CE, C#, it supports object oriented technology, provides simple development/deployment can run on multiple devices, supports multi-tier development and has a very large developer base which tends to drive the market.
