Distribution Management System (DMS)

DMS is designed as a fully graphical scaled-down version of RMS. Including such convenient GUI features as radio buttons, push buttons, list boxes, check boxes, menu bars, tool bars, entry boxes, and other standard GUI structures, DMS delivers an easy to use interface.

DMS is targeted for the smaller (less than fifty routes) distributor to run either stand alone or part of an integrated system. DMS will interface to RMS, SMS, and HMS in the NCS Suite without any additional programming. DMS allows smaller distributors and/or branch operations to exchange selected data with a larger distributor and/or host computer using RMS. DMS allows users to exchange selected data with Handheld Computers using HMS. DMS allows users to exchange selected data with Laptop/Palmtop/Pen Based Computers used by Salesman using SMS.


DMS is meant to accomplish several strategic needs that are not addressed by RMS:

• Attract smaller users. 
• Reduce data line costs by putting data locally and forwarding (store and forward) it to RMS later. 
• Reduce load placed on a host RMS system by allowing most processing to occur locally. 
• Allow RMS users to attract independent distributors with an inexpensive solution that allows autonomy for the distributor.
• Easy-to-use interface to reduce education time in installation. 
• Allow RMS users to have a easy way to handle small distributors or branch operations. 
• Allow smaller users to install HMS (Handheld Computers) without the need to install the full complement of RMS features. 
• Allow RMS users to collect SMS (Sales Force Automation) data locally and forward the data to RMS later.  

DMS includes all of the products used in RMS; Order Entry, Pricing, Promotions, Route Settlement, Invoicing,  Accounts Receivable, Sales Analysis, RMS Interface, SMS Interface, HMS Interface. Each product is presented on simple easy-to-use GUI screens.
